COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE AND COUNTY COUNCIL CONVENE VIRTUALLY MARCH 2ND FOR SCHEDULED SESSIONS, BRIEFING AND FY 2022 BUDGET TOWN HALL
Lieutenant Governor Boyd Rutherford to Provide State Updates During Council Session
The Council’s Committee of the Whole (COW) and the Prince George’s County Council will convene virtually on Tuesday, March 2nd.
The COW is scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m. for General Assembly updates, to include discussions on several statewide and local bills. The Committee of the Whole will also receive Maryland Association of Counties (MACo) updates.
Council session will convene at 11:15 a.m. and begin with a briefing from Maryland’s Lieutenant Governor Boyd Rutherford, who will provide state updates on issues impacting Maryland and Prince George’s County. Session will continue with public hearings for County Executive Alsobrooks’ appointments of Chief Administrative Officer and the Commission for Veterans. The Council will also consider Proposed Correspondence, and introduce several measures, including CR-023-2021, legislation concerning the National Day of Empathy and initiatives that support criminal justice reform.
The Council will reconvene at 5:00 p.m. for the FY 2022 Virtual Budget Town Hall Meeting.
