The Prince George’s County Artificial Intelligence (AI) Task Force will meet on Thursday, March 6, at 6:00 PM at the University of Maryland, uniting key leaders from academia, business, and the community to shape the future of AI in the county.
Distinguished speakers include University of Maryland President Darryll Pines, Provost Jennifer King Rice, and Council Member Wala Blegay, along with local business and community leaders. Discussions will focus on AI innovation, workforce development, and securing funding, including efforts to apply for National Science Foundation grants.
“As AI transforms industries, Prince George’s County must proactively harness its potential,” said Council Member Blegay. “This meeting is a key step in building a strong foundation for AI-driven progress.”
Launched in 2024, the AI Task Force is a collaboration between the University of Maryland, Bowie State University, Prince George’s Community College, local tech firms, and government agencies. Its mission is to position Prince George’s County as a leader in AI research, innovation, and workforce development.
Tonight’s meeting will be held at the University of Maryland’s Brendan Iribe Center for Computer Science and Engineering, 8125 Paint Branch Drive, College Park, MD 20742, Room 4105.
