Council News Posted on March 05, 2025

District 1 Council Member Tom Dernoga is pleased to host a Virtual Community Conversation with U.S. Senator Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.) on Thursday, March 6, at 7:00 PM.

During this event, Senator Van Hollen will provide an update on key federal issues and discuss how they may impact Prince George’s County residents. With approximately 50,000 federal employees calling Prince George’s County home, federal decisions have a direct impact on our community’s economy and quality of life. This conversation offers residents an opportunity to hear directly from their elected officials and gain insight into the latest developments from Capitol Hill. The Senator will also address pre-submitted questions from residents.

“I’m pleased to welcome Senator Van Hollen for this important conversation with our community,” said Council Member Dernoga. “Federal policies affect so many of our residents—whether they work for the federal government or rely on its services. This is a great opportunity to hear directly from our Senator about what’s happening in Washington. I encourage everyone to join us and stay informed.”

The conversation will take place via Zoom and is open to all District 1 residents and media members.
