HOUSING OPPORTUNITIES FOR ALL WORK GROUP, RE-ENTRY ADVISORY BOARD AND CLIMATE ACTION COMMISSION TO CONVENE FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 20TH

The Prince George’s County Council’s Housing Opportunities for All Work Group, Re-Entry Advisory Board, and Climate Action Commission will convene virtually on Friday, November 20, 2020. 

The Prince George’s County Housing Opportunities for All Work Group, established by Council Resolution CR-16-2019, will convene at 9:30 a.m. The Housing Opportunities for All Work Group is charged with assisting the County in setting priorities and implementing the Comprehensive Housing Strategy report for Prince George’s County. The Work Group will also make recommendations on any proposed legislation or amendments under consideration by the County to existing housing policies and legislation. 

The Prince George’s County Re-Entry Advisory Board, established by Council Resolution 49-2019, will convene at 11:30 a.m. and hear from former Director of the District of Columbia Department of Corrections and Nationally Known Re-Entry Facilitator/Youth Advocate, Rahim Jenkins. The Re-Entry Advisory Board is charged with implementing a comprehensive re-entry program and re-entry services in the County to aid formerly incarcerated persons with acclimating back into society. The advisory board will evaluate and assess resources and services currently available, and identify ways to effectively implement programs addressing employment, housing, mental health and faith-based initiatives.

The Climate Action Commission, established by CR-007-2020, will convene at 1:30 p.m.  for a discussion on climate action planning. The Commission is charged with developing a Climate Action Plan for Prince George’s County to prepare for regional climate change impacts and set climate stabilization goals.

Re-Entry Advisory Board – 11:30 a.m.

Climate Action Commission – 1:30 p.m.
