COUNCIL TO RECEIVE COMMUNITY POLICING AND PUBLIC SAFETY BRIEFING DURING SCHEDULED JUNE 16th VIRTUAL SESSION; COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE CONVENES TO REVIEW LEGISLATION

Council Also Receives State Transportation Briefing

The Prince George’s County Council, supported by technology, will convene a virtual Council session on Tuesday, June 16th at 11:00 a.m. The Council’s Committee of the Whole (COW) will also meet on June 16th at 12:30 p.m. to review proposed legislation.

The County Council agenda for June 16th includes a briefing on Community Policing and Public Safety from County Executive Angela Alsobrooks; Police Chief Henry Stawinski; Board of Education Chair, Dr. Alvin Thornton; and President, Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge 89,  Angelo Consoli.  Following the Community Policing and Public Safety briefing, and recess for Committee of the Whole (COW), the Council will reconvene at 1:00 p.m. for a briefing from Maryland Department of Transportation Secretary Gregory Slater, and Acting Administrator/Deputy Administrator for Operations, Tim Smith.  Additionally, the Council is scheduled to present and introduce several Council Bills and vote on eight (8) Council Resolutions. 

The Council’s COW will review CR-042-2020 A Resolution concerning Supplementary Appropriation of Federal, State and other funds.
