Scheduled Budget Work Sessions and Budget Public Hearing – May 4th 

Residents Encouraged to Use eComment Portal for Public Testimony

The Prince George’s County Council Committee of the Whole (COW), using technology, will convene virtually on Monday, May 4th, at 10:00 a.m., for a scheduled budget work session. The County Council will convene at 5:00 p.m., on Monday, for FY 21 Budget public hearings.

COW FY 21 Budget work sessions scheduled for May 4th, include presentations by the Prince George’s Memorial Library System; Prince George’s Community College; Employ Prince George’s; People’s Zoning Counsel; Department of Permitting, Inspections, and Enforcement (DPIE); Experience Prince George’s; Economic Development Corporation; and Financial Services Corporation. Residents are encouraged to watch the budget work sessions HERE.

The virtual FY 21 Budget public hearings, scheduled to begin at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, May 4th, will address the Prince George’s County Proposed FY 2021 Operating Budget Six-Year Capital Program and the Prince George’s County Board of Education portion of the County FY 2021 Operating Budget, Proposed Budget of the Redevelopment Authority and Revenue Authority of Prince George’s County, and the Constant Yield Tax Rate.

Residents are strongly encouraged to participate and share their budget priorities during the public hearing. Closed-captioning and Spanish language translation will be provided. Also, to facilitate public comment during virtual Council public hearings, the Council has established an eComment portal. Residents and stakeholders can register electronically to speak, or to submit a comment or letter into the official public record, in lieu of verbal testimony.

Written testimony or comment will be accepted in electronic format, rather than by U.S. mail. For those unable to use the portal, comment/written correspondence may be emailed to: clerkofthecouncil@co.pg.md.us or faxed to (301) 952-5178. All testimony and comment received by the deadline will become part of the testimony. Comment will not be accepted via social media or by telephone/voice mail message.
