Community Listening Session on the Adaptive Reuse of the Site – October 17
Prince George’s County Council Chair Todd M. Turner (D) – District 4, Council Member Dannielle Glaros (D) – District 3, and Council Member Jolene Ivey (D) – District 5, will co-host a Glenn Dale Hospital Historic District Public Meeting sponsored by the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission/Prince George’s County Parks and Recreation on Thursday, October 17, 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. at the Glenn Dale Community Center, 11901 Glenn Dale Blvd. in Glenn Dale, Maryland.
The Glenn Dale Hospital Historic District, located in Glenn Dale, Maryland, is a 207-acre property with 25 structures and woodlands. Glenn Dale Hospital, located on the property, closed in January 1982 and remains closed today. Site developer, the Alexander Company, was selected to conduct a detailed assessment of the site and buildings, develop viable market strategies for the existing structures and produce a detailed implementation plan.
Residents are encouraged to participate in the public meeting and share their thoughts on redevelopment strategies for the historic Glenn Dale Hospital site.
