DISTRICT 4 COUNCIL MEMBER INGRID WATSON JOINS URGENT CALL FOR COMMUNITY’S HELP IN SEARCH FOR MISSING GREENBELT RESIDENT AND TEACHER

The disappearance of beloved District 4 resident and Prince George’s County School teacher Mariame Toure Sylla nearly two weeks ago now, has us all deeply concerned for her safety and well-being.

I commend the efforts of the Greenbelt Police Department and their law enforcement partners as the urgent search to locate Ms. Sylla, last seen on Saturday, July 29th, continues. A special thank you to our residents and community partners who are working alongside police and rallying for her safe return.  “Madame Sylla” as she is known to many of her students — is an elementary school teacher at the Dora Kennedy French Immersion School in Greenbelt.  We offer our thoughts and prayers to family, friends, and the community as the search continues.

The police still need your help with finding Mariame Toure Sylla.  If you see her or have additional information about her disappearance or whereabouts, please contact Detective Davis at (240) 542-2134, ddavis@greenbeltmd.gov , or call Greenbelt Police at (301) 474-7200.
