PRESS ADVISORY: PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY COUNCIL MEMBER CALVIN HAWKINS HOSTS NATIONAL NIGHT OUT EVENT IN UPPER MARLBORO
Council Member At-Large Calvin S. Hawkins, II will host a National Night Out party on Tuesday, August 1, 2023 in the Perrywood Subdivision at 13200 Black Swann Dr. in Upper Marlboro, MD 20774. The event will run from 6:30-8:30 P.M.
Maryland Senator Chris Van Hollen is expected to be in attendance at 6:30 P.M.
National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign intended to strengthen relationships between law enforcement and the communities they serve. This year marks the 40th year for the nationwide event with 38 million people expected to participate across 17,000 communities. Residents are encouraged to turn on their porch lights.
“National Night Out is a moment to highlight the unity of the community as we come together to pay respect and show support for our municipal, county, state and federal law enforcement officials,” said Council Member Hawkins. “I encourage you to turn on your porch lights and turn out in your community in support of our men and women who serve and protect us 365 days out of the year!”
