[ARCHIVED] DISTRICT 4 COUNCIL MEMBER TODD M. TURNER TO BE HONORED BY BELTWAY PLAZA MERCHANTS’ ASSOCIATION...

DISTRICT 4 COUNCIL MEMBER TODD M.  TURNER TO BE HONORED BY BELTWAY PLAZA MERCHANTS’ ASSOCIATION DURING ‘WALL OF FAME’ INDUCTION CEREMONY

Turner To Be Recognized for 20+ Years of Meritorious Service to District 4 Residents

Prince George’s County Council Member Todd M. Turner (D – District 4) will be inducted into the Beltway Plaza Local Heroes Wall of Fame by the Beltway Plaza Merchants’ Association on Friday, June 17, 2022, at 6:00 p.m.  The induction ceremony reception will take place at Beltway Plaza Mall, Wall of Fame Hallway, 6000 Greenbelt Road, in Greenbelt, MD.

Council Member Turner will be recognized for his support and service to the City of Greenbelt and its residents over his two terms in office from 2014-2022, as well as his tenure as Council Chair in 2019 and again in 2020.  Council Member Turner’s contributions, noted by the Beltway Plaza Merchants Association, include working with the City of Greenbelt in response to the COVID-19 pandemic - providing food, PPE, rental and other assistance to residents impacted by the pandemic.  Additionally, his support of several Greenbelt organizations through County grant funding, and his tireless efforts to secure capital funding for a new turf athletic field at Eleanor Roosevelt High School, the renovation of the Greenbelt Library, and pedestrian and bicycle improvements on Branchville Road are also among his many celebrated accomplishments.

“I am humbled and honored for this recognition and I am thankful for the residents, the City of Greenbelt and my District 4 staff who have worked with me over the years in service to this community.  As my final term on the Council nears its conclusion, the work we were able to do on behalf of Greenbelt and its residents will remain among my proudest accomplishments. The beginning goal was to help Greenbelt and its surrounding communities reach their fullest potential, and this recognition is confirmation that by working together, we were able to reach that goal,” Council Member Turner said.
