COUNCIL CHAIR CALVIN S. HAWKINS, COUNCIL MEMBER SYDNEY HARRISON, AND COUNCIL MEMBER JOLENE IVEY HOST DRIVE-BY EVENT HONORING COUNTY POLICE OFFICERS RESPONDING TO JANUARY 6TH U.S. CAPITOL UNREST

Prince George’s County Council Chair Calvin S. Hawkins, II, Council Member Sydney Harrison (District 9), and Council Member Jolene Ivey (District 5), in partnership with 4Ever Unified and Prince George’s County Police T.E.P. (Triad, Explorers and PAL), will host a “Drive-By” event at FedEx Field on Wednesday, February 17th at 10:00 a.m. honoring the heroism of Prince George’s County police officers responding to the U.S. Capitol unrest on January 6, 2021, under the region’s Mutual Aid Agreement.  

Prince George’s County Executive Angela Alsobrooks and Acting Police Chief Hector Velez will also participate in the public event, joining Council Members, local nonprofits and County residents in recognition of responding officers. Presentations will follow a motorcade around FedEx Way.

The public is encouraged to attend. Vehicles will stage in the FedEx Field Platinum Parking Lot A (enter from Garrett A. Morgan Blvd).  

Following COVID-19 public health and safety guidelines, masks and social distancing will be required.
