[ARCHIVED] AT-LARGE COUNCIL MEMBER HAWKINS PARTNERS TO HOST MOTHER’S DAY GROCERY GIVEAWAY THIS WEEKEND

Food Distribution Saturday, May 9 – 500 Boxes of Groceries Available 

Prince George’s County Council Vice-Chair and At-Large Member Calvin S. Hawkins, II, in continued efforts to address food insecurities in the County, related to COVID-19, is partnering with local municipalities, service organizations, corporate citizens, and government agencies, to host a Mother’s Day Grocery Give-Away on Saturday, May 9, at the Technology Training Center, Bank of America Building, 5800 Martin Luther King, Jr. Highway, in Seat Pleasant.

The Mother’s Day Grocery Give-Away, a drive-up only event, will distribute 500 boxes of shelf-stable food and fresh produce, one box per vehicle, from 10:00 a.m. – 12 Noon, or until the food supply is exhausted.

Vice-Chair Hawkins, noting the importance of giving back during this time of great need, said, “Giving back and helping those who are hungry is a fundamental responsibility for those of us that have and can give.”

Mother’s Day Grocery Give-Away partners include the Bank of America; Blythewood Landscape Management; C. Brown & Associates; City of Seat Pleasant; Comcast; G.S Procter & Associates; Hunt Real Estate; McNamee Hosea Law Firm; Northrop Grumman; PEPCO; Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. - Gamma Phi Chapter; Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. - Zeta Chi Sigma Chapter; Prince George’s County Police Department; SA-TECH; T-Rex; Town of Capitol Heights; Town of District Heights; Town of Fairmont Height; Werrlein Properties; and Verizon.
