Task Force to Examine County’s Persistently High Emergency Room Wait Times
The Prince George’s County Emergency Room Wait Times Task Force, established by the County Council under CR-082-2023, will convene for the first time on Monday, April 22, 2024 at 6:00 p.m. To participate in the virtual meeting, please visit, bit.ly/PGTaskforce.
The Emergency Room Wait Times Task Force is charged with studying best practices and making recommendations for reducing emergency room wait times in the County. The group will examine the root causes of prolonged emergency room wait times and address other factors, including but not limited to, regulatory environments, service accessibility, and inpatient bed availability.
The Task Force's inaugural meeting marks a significant step towards effectively and efficiently addressing the pressing issue of excessive emergency room wait times, presenting a critical opportunity for interested stakeholders to share insights and chart a course of action toward improving wait times in Prince George’s County.
