Residents Encouraged to Attend and Connect to Various Organizations Sharing Resources and Information
Prince George’s County Council Member Wanika Fisher (District 2) is pleased to announce a resource fair and engagement event at Sonia Sotomayor Middle School, featuring diverse organizations from the Latino community.
Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with various organizations, including Latino Affairs Liaison and Keynote Speaker Samantha Howard. The purpose of the event is to educate the Latino community and offer resources for local constituents to resolve ongoing issues. The event will include mini-informational tables, allowing constituents to gain insights into various resources available on the county level.
Organizational liaisons will be present and available for questions. Additionally, attendees will enjoy a delicious lunch consisting of pupusas, drink refreshers, and churros from Cocineros. Lastly, don't miss out on a mesmerizing folklore dance performance and amazing radio personality Patricia De Lima from EL ZOL 107.9.
Councilmember Wanika Fisher, the first-generation African immigrant elected from Prince Georges County in 2018 and the first Asian American to serve on the Prince George’s County Council, will be hosting this event. Councilmember Fisher currently represents District 2, covering areas such as Lewisdale, Adelphi, Langley Park, and more. She has a proven track record of advocating for legislation around affordable housing, the environment, smart growth, and minority businesses.
