Task Force Purpose
The Prince George’s County Council adopted Council Resolution 2-2012 (CR-2-2012), in February 2012. CR-2-2012 establishes a 13-member Prince George’s County Foreclosure Task Force, representing the county and state governments, stakeholders from the real estate and banking industries, not-for-profit organizations, and the public to review and evaluate the county’s response to foreclosures.
The Task Force was also charged with recommending appropriate policies and/or legislation to address the impact of foreclosures in the county.
Subsequently, the County Council adopted CR-43-2012 and CR-7-2013 extending the Task Force reporting time. The Foreclosure Task Force held 7 meetings over the course of the past year, reviewing issues and alternatives with staff, state and regional experts, and reviewing extensive materials on county operations and programs.
