Event will provide resources and assistance to those impacted by recent executive orders
Prince George’s County Council Chair Jolene Ivey (At-Large) and Congressman Glenn Ivey (MD-04) will host a resource summit for those who are at-risk or have recently lost their jobs. The Public Servant Summit will take place on Saturday, March 1, from 10 am to 12 pm, at Greenbelt Middle School, 6301 Breezewood Drive, Greenbelt, MD 20770. The event will provide employment opportunities, contact with union representatives, and human services resources, as well as discussion about the recent federal decisions.
The event will feature special guests Rob Shriver, the Managing Director of Democracy Forward, a nonprofit legal organization that is challenging recent executive orders and firings in court, and Michelle Singletary from the Washington Post.

This is the second event the Iveys have co-hosted for federal workers in recent weeks. On February 6, they teamed up with Congressman Steny Hoyer for a Federal Worker Tele-Town Hall. Chair Ivey has led the charge on ensuring residents in Prince George’s County are equipped to handle the ever-changing federal landscape through an updated resource page on her county webpage.
“It is more important than ever to fight back by standing up for democracy, justice, and fairness. A large percentage of Prince Georgians work for the federal government, and more and more of our friends and neighbors are senselessly having their jobs taken from them,” said Chair Ivey. “We will continue to fight for our residents and provide as many resources as we can to help them land on their feet.”
