The Prince George’s County Council will convene for a special session tomorrow, Tuesday, December 10th at 10 a.m., to set dates for the special primary and special general election to fill the County Executive vacancy. Pursuant to the County Charter, when there is a vacancy in the office of the County Executive that occurs within the first two years of a term, the Council must adopt a resolution setting dates of the special election within ten days of the vacancy. In this case, dates must be set on or before December 12, 2024.
The Council will also set dates for the special election to fill the vacancy in Council District 5.
The meeting will take place in the Council Hearing Room – First Floor, Wayne K. Curry Administration Building, 1301 McCormick Drive in Largo.
