Council Member Wala Blegay Organizes Community Immigration Clinic in Prince George’s County

In a significant effort to support the local immigrant community, District 6 Council Member Wala Blegay, Esq., is organizing a Community Immigration Clinic, partnering with organizations that will provide a wealth of expertise and resources. The clinic will take place on Saturday, June 8th, at 10 a.m. at the Redeemers Church of Christ, 10001 Aerospace Road, Lanham, MD. 

 

The clinic will provide resources including free initial legal consultations with immigration attorneys to provide individualized advice and guidance, as well as help with submitting applications for visas, green cards, work permits, citizenship, and TPS.

 

“We are committed to ensuring every member of our community has access to comprehensive and effective support,” said Council Member Blegay. “This clinic will provide resources integral to navigating the unique challenges the immigrant community faces as they secure a brighter future for themselves and their families.” 

 

The clinic is organized in partnership with Africans for Mental Health, CASA, C&J Migrant Solutions Foundation, Prince George’s County Judge LaKeecia Allen, the Law Office of Yolanda M. Thompson, NALA (Nigerian American Lawyers Association), Nigerian Center Inc., and World Ebony Network.

 

No appointment is necessary, but registration is strongly recommended. Attendees are advised to bring relevant documents and identification to facilitate the process.
