Council Members Wala Blegay and Krystal Oriadha Partner with Non-Profit SheRises
Council Members Wala Blegay and Krystal Oriadha are partnering with SheRises, a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering young mothers in Prince George's County, to host a Community Baby Shower on Saturday, May 18th, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. The event will offer a nurturing environment for new and expecting mothers to connect with community resources, receive valuable information, and celebrate this special time in their lives.
SheRises will provide baby items like diapers, wipes, and other mom and baby essentials, and activities will include Mommy Massages by Joyful Bodies Therapeutics and Infant CPR demos by Rescue One.
The event is happening at Largo /Kettering Community Center at 431 Watkins Park Drive, Upper Marlboro, MD.
"As a passionate advocate for the health and well-being of our community, I am thrilled to partner with SheRises for an event that’s not just about providing essential items, but also fostering a supportive network for new and expecting mothers in Prince George’s County,” said Council Member Blegay. “Together, we are committed to ensuring that every mother and child has the best start in life. The event is sponsored by State Farm Insurance Agents Roxana Rodriguez and Cindi Scafide, Dental Land Pediatrics, and Maryland Medicaid MCO, Maryland Physicians Care. Community partners include CCI Health Services and Prince George's County Department of Human Services.
