In partnership with the Sickle Cell Coalition of Maryland and Zeta Mu Chapter of Iota Phi Lambda Sorority, Inc., and proudly supported by UM Capital Region Health, Pfizer Rare Disease, National Council of Negro Women, Inc. – Prince George's County Section, and Chi Eta Phi Sorority, this special event focuses on collecting care items for patients admitted to Children's National and the University of Maryland Capital Region Health. These items will directly benefit individuals living with sickle cell disease, with an emphasis on toiletries and ethnic products tailored to meet the unique needs of Black patients.
Here’s how you can get involved:
- Volunteer: Help the Council District 6 teams and partnering organizations organize care kits and support this impactful day.
- Donate toiletries and distraction items (e.g., small puzzles) from the MLK Unity Day Amazon Wish Lists for patients in Children's National Medical Center and UM Capital Region Health.
