It is with a deep sense of pride in the history of the moment, that the Prince George’s County Council warmly congratulates Maryland Governor Wes Moore and Lieutenant Governor Aruna Miller on today’s momentous inauguration.  

The leadership of Governor Moore, our state’s first Black governor, and Lt. Governor Miller, the second woman to serve in that role, and the first woman of color and immigrant elected to statewide office in Maryland, will deliver a transformative State Government committed to transparency and equity in marginalized communities, as part of its progressive Leave No One Behind Agenda.

The Council looks forward to working in partnership with the Moore-Miller Administration to achieve joint priorities for the people, including increasing services and opportunities for our residents, and addressing concerns that impact working families, healthcare, economic development, and our environment.  

Working together, this day will be a portent of the progress to come for Marylanders, and Prince Georgians.
