COUNCIL ANNOUNCES SIXTH CONSECUTIVE YEAR OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE GRANT FUNDING FOR LOCAL NONPROFITS - PRE-PROPOSAL CONFERENCE SEPTEMBER 15TH
$500,000 Grant Program Seeks Community Solutions for Ending Domestic Violence in Prince George’s County
The Prince George’s County Council continues its commitment to heighten awareness, strengthen the County’s safety net, and enhance the effectiveness of nonprofit partners with its appropriation of $500,000 in the FY 2022 County Budget, to support domestic violence programs in Prince George’s County for the sixth consecutive year.
The FY 2022 Prince George’s County Council Grant Program provides funding support to local nonprofit programs serving the housing, workforce development, mental health counseling or legal advocacy needs of County residents who are survivors of domestic violence. Local nonprofit organizations interested in funding are encouraged to apply.
"Since its inception, the Council’s Domestic Violence Grant Program has awarded over 2.5 million dollars to local nonprofits that partner with us in the fight against domestic violence in Prince George’s County,” said Council Chair Calvin S. Hawkins, II. “The continued funding upholds our commitment to effectively address domestic violence in our communities, and we look forward to working collaboratively with our local nonprofits, public safety officials, residents and County Government to eradicate this pervasive issue.”
A virtual Pre-Proposal Conference for the Prince George’s County Council Grant Program is scheduled for Wednesday, September 15, 2021, from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. For additional information about the Council’s Domestic Violence Grant Program, including how to apply, potential applicants are strongly encouraged to attend this pre-proposal conference.
