Prince George’s County Public Schools will utilize a design, build, finance, and maintenance (DBFM) alternative financing model to deliver six (6) new public schools by 2023 and be the first jurisdiction in the nation to utilize the private sector to bundle a multi-school construction program. This unique partnership, called Alternative Construction Financing (ACF) and authorized recently by state law, will allow Prince George’s County Public Schools (PGCPS) to build these 6 schools, which will include five (5) new middle schools and one (1) K-8 school, in just three (3) years totaling more than 8,000 seats.
