Prince George’s County Council Member Rodney C. Streeter was elected to his first four-year term on the Prince George’s County Council in the November 2018 General Election. He represents Councilmanic District 7. Council Member Streeter has more than 20 years of experience working in several essential government positions to include Legislative Aide, Constituent Services Director, and Chief of Staff for the D.C. City Council, and most recently, the Prince George’s County Council.  Council Member Streeter is an active alumnus of Leadership Prince George’s, Inc. and an involved member of the Hillcrest Heights Civic Association.  Honored with numerous community service awards, Council Member Streeter embraces the foundational principles that government must be responsive to the needs of its citizens; accountable and responsible with hard-entrusted tax dollars; enhance services for the community’s most vulnerable, particularly seniors and youth; and support families and the communities in which they live by creating recreational and educational opportunities for youth, and training for second-chance citizens. Council Member Rodney Streeter and his wife, Lisa are proud homeowners in the Hillcrest Heights community, where they have lived since 2005.  They have one adult son, Rodney Streeter II.

​Council Member Streeter will chair the Government Operations and Fiscal Policy committee for the 2020 Legislative Year. In this role he will have review responsibilities of the following County agencies: Office of Central Services, Office of Community Relations, Board of Elections, Office of Ethics and Accountability, Office of Finance, Human Relations Commission, Board of License Commissioners, Office of Human Resources Management, Office of Information Technology, Office of Law, Office of Management and Budget, Revenue Authority, Salary Plans/Contracts, Budget Amendments, and Council Rules. This committee will also have reviewing responsibility of a number of Boards and Commissions. The Boards and Commissions include: Board of Ethics, Human Relations Commission, Spending Affordability Committee, Cable Television Commission, and the Personnel Board. Council Member Streeter will also serve on the Health, Human Services and Public Safety committee.
